Centre for Business Law and Practice

University of Leeds

The centre seeks to foster study in all areas of business law and practice, understood as the legal rules which regulate any form of business activity.

The centre, based at the University of Leeds, seeks to promote all forms of research, including, doctrinal, theoretical and applied (including empirical) research and to develop contacts between the academic world and the worlds of business and legal practice in order to enhance mutual understanding and awareness. The results of its work are disseminated as widely as possible by publishing monographs, articles and pamphlets as well as by holding seminars with both in-house and outside speakers. The city of Leeds is a very suitable location for this work as it hosts major legal, financial, information technology, commercial and corporate sectors. One of the primary functions of the centre is to manage postgraduate research and postgraduate taught programmes in international and European business law.
