A New Format! Opportunity to ask Questions to a Socio-Legal Expert as well as Build International Networks
While previous sessions have followed a 'Shut Up and Write' (SUAW) format — featuring brief introductions, four 25-minute writing blocks with 5-minute breaks, and reflections at the end — this session introduces a new element based on participants' feedback.
We are delighted to host Professor Shelley Marshall from RMIT University, Melbourne, as part of this session. This is an excellent opportunity to gain insight from Professor Marshall's experiences; Professor Marshall is a distinguished socio-legal scholar specialising in business, human rights and labour law. She has collaborated extensively with organisations such as the International Labour Organization and the UK Economic and Social Research Council, significantly influencing international labour market regulation. She will share insights on the challenges of conducting socio-legal research in academia and civil society and discuss the deployment of socio-legal research methods in diverse contexts.
This session is organised in collaboration with the Law and Society Association of Australia and New Zealand (LSAANZ) to strengthen international collaboration. PGRs from Australia and New Zealand are also invited, providing an excellent opportunity to interact with peers from other jurisdictions and learn about their work.
