The Health and Social Policy Research Centre (HSPRC) was set up in at the University of Brighton in 1991 to develop research into social policy and practice.
It aims to:
foster and sustain quality research in health and social policy, contribute to knowledge, theoretical development and debate and inform policy making, teaching and practice.
With a general social inclusion focus, HSPRC’s research programme includes three broad but related policy areas: health and social care, community and environmental policy and community safety and youth justice. Its areas of interest include: policing and criminal justice; anti-social behaviour; domestic violence; substance misuse; needs analysis and evaluation; community and service user empowerment; neighbourhood renewal; inter-agency and partnership working; health and social care.
